What Is The Five Pillars Index?
The Five Pillars Index is a global assessment framework designed to measure the conditions that support long-term human flourishing.
Rather than focusing solely on economic performance, the Index evaluates five interconnected dimensions of societal wellbeing: Nutrition, Movement, Knowledge, Mindset, and Environment.
Together, these pillars provide a broader perspective on how regions create the conditions for health, resilience, opportunity, and quality of life.
The 2026 edition evaluates 213 regions across the world using 25 indicators, offering one of the most comprehensive systems-based assessments of human flourishing currently available.
The Five Pillars Framework
Nutrition
Access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food alongside healthy dietary patterns and nutritional literacy.
Movement
The infrastructure, culture, and opportunities that support active and healthy lifestyles.
Knowledge
Education, information access, practical knowledge, and the ability to navigate an increasingly complex world.
Mindset
Psychological wellbeing, social trust, purpose, and the systems that support mental resilience.
